Each and all of us, created in the image of God, are one body – our church, our community, our world. As Jesus teaches us, we love, we share fellowship, we value and defend the dignity of all God's children. FMC's Equity & Social Justice Committee invites you to pursue your personal spiritual development to gain understanding of your role in social justice. We do this by providing opportunities for learning and spiritual growth, to acknowledge a true shared history, and to heal and to build a just and equitable community.

FMC Moorestown seeks to live the motto of the Methodist Church: “Open Hearts, Open Minds, and Open Doors.” Following the example of Jesus, the Reconciling Team of FMC believes that living this motto means dedicating ourselves to social justice and service. We affirm the scriptural message that all people are created in the image of God, and as beloved children of God, all are worthy of God’s love and grace. We celebrate our human family’s differences, including diversity of race, ethnicity, age, religious background, life experience, economic status, marital status, family configuration, physical and developmental ability, education, sexual orientation and gender identity. As Jesus welcomes each of us, we welcome the full inclusion of all people in the life and ministries of FMC to worship, love, serve and grow.

Since November 2018 First Methodist Church of Moorestown has been recognized by the Reconciling Ministry Network (RMN), a national organization of United Methodist individuals, churches and small groups (“communities”). See www.rmnetwork.org for more information.

As a Reconciling Church, our goals are to continue offering educational opportunities, seek partnerships with other like-minded communities of faith, and host events intended to reach out to the LGBTQ community.

Please join us in this important ministry. Contact Lisa Kulp   or Diane Dyson   with any questions.

Rev. Patti Walz (retired) will be leading a monthly book club named the “Eureka! Book Club.” The word “Eureka” comes from the Greek word “heureka” that means “I have found it! “or, “I have made a sudden remarkable discovery!” In the New Testament, Phillip exclaims to Nathanael, “Eureka! We have found him whom Moses and the prophets spoke of.”

“Eureka Book Club” participants will meet on the fourth Tuesday (unless noted with *) of each month from 6:00 until 7:30 PM in the Parlor, located behind the church sanctuary. From 6:00 until 6:30, participants will share a meal – bring your own. Discussion will be from 6:30-7:30.

Each month, participants will read a book that is fodder for discussion, growth, inspiration, and/or discipleship action leading to many “eureka” opportunities. Book club members should read each book before meeting.

Please let Rev. Walz know at or call the church office if you would like to join “Eureka!”.

The Friday morning men’s group meets 7:00 a.m. every Friday in the Parlor from September to June. Typically we read books by Christian authors and then discuss chapters when we meet. We also have periodic “check-in” sessions where the question is put “What is the state of your soul?” in the tradition of Wesley. We also occasionally discuss videos or podcasts, and will have a couple weeks of Salon topics where anyone can share a topic to discuss.  For more information, contact Tom Kulp at  .

A group of people who enjoy making things. We meet monthly in Room F105 (usually the second Monday 1:30-3), to make various easy crafts to give away and bring a smile to someone’s face. All levels of craftiness are welcome.  For more information, please contact Cindy Cope  .
